Many of the writers asked FCC chairman Frank P. McNinch to "do what you can to stop H G Wells [sic] Mercury Theatre." Others encouraged the commission to prevent such broadcasts in the future and to punish Orson Welles. Claude W. Morris of Chicago told the commission, "I hope you will lawfully prevent such broadcasts in the future and, if possible, severely discipline all participants." Most of those who complained also shared personal stories with the commission about how the broadcast affected them, their families, or their communities. Claude L. Stewart of Meadville, Pennsylvania, sent a telegram to the commission stating, "Mercury Theatre of air not only in bad taste but dangerous stop my wife and several other women confined to beds from shock and hysteria." The city manager of Trenton, New Jersey, asked the commission to take action "to avoid a reoccurrence of a very grave and serious situation . . . which completely crippled communication facilities of our Police Department for about three hours."
P1: Climb steep flakes that trend up and right into the main crack line. The pitch stretches for about 200' and goes from fingers to hands with a choice to break the pitch at a sloping shelf about mid-way right at the crux getting off the shelf and over the bulge that the wall above forms. Pitch finishes on a great ledge with 2 bolts. 5.10+ 200'+
P2: Move left on the ledge as it narrows and step down under the roof. Continue traversing below the roof using all sorts of holds in all kinds of places. This pitch actually protects quite well. Move left until you come to a crack going up where the roof has narrowed to only a foot or so. Move just a body length up the crack and set a belay with your feet in a pod (finger sized gear) for better communication with your partner or continue up the right angling crack above to an area with some big cut outs. 5.10, short and sideways or somewhat longer.
P3: Climb up the beautiful right angling crack until it starts to peter out. You'll be below an obvious left facing corner which is the route we took, though you could go left through a vegetated area to gain another right angling crack. Interesting move get you into the corner, then stem and layback up to the spacious ledge. This is a very long pitch if starting from the "pod." With a 70m rope I was able to set an anchor at the back of the ledge and still sit back at the edge to better communicate (this probably ate up 40-50' of rope) with a 60m rope you might need a cordalette to tie off one of the huge blocks or use the rap anchor that is to the right just below the ledge. 5.9, 200'
Most parties climb to at least here before rappelling, all the climbing is stellar. Above the quality of the route continues to be amazing, but the character changes from well protected cracks, to runout face climbing following discontinuous cracks and wild dikes up stellar granite.
P8: Follow the ramp right for quite a ways, 40-50' until you come to some flakes and and easy way to climb onto the face above. Once on the face you may still need to step right to gain a thin left angling crack that is followed to an anchor. 5.8, 165'
P9: You can either face climb up the low angle rock for 120' or so to the anchor or continue to follow the thin crack as it angles left, until near the top of the wall, then step right to the bolted anchor. 5.4, 120'

Character Analysis: After reading this book, what do you make of Putnam the Raftking? For much of the book he is an antagonist, but is he a true villain? He is beloved by his people and he in turn, loves his people and only wants what is best for them. Yet he will seemingly stop at nothing to achieve his own desires. Do his actions in the latter parts of the book absolve him of his crimes in the earlier ones?
What truly makes the Second World better than the First World? While the second world contains more magic and wonder than the First World, perhaps it is the people, the citizens of the Islands and Raftworld, that truly make the Second World a nicer and kinder place than the First World. Compare the way Thanh and his group of refugees are treated by different groups in both worlds.
The amazing thing is that doctors had ordered Keino not to run the race at all. He'd been diagnosed with a gallbladder infection just a few days before. A gallbladder infection is incredibly painful. It hurts the most when you breathe hard, when you're running. Keino not only won the race, but he also set the Olympic record.
It's not a silver bullet. Any athletic success has to be ascribed to a host of factors including body type and diet and socioeconomics and upbringing. Nevertheless, in traditional Kalenjin society, pushing through pain isn't only a desired trait, it's also part of what makes you a man or a woman.
The differences between the two worlds become more pronounced after 1996, when a flu pandemic killed hundreds of millions in the Prime world, setting back the world technologically but advancing it in life sciences. The virus was suspected of being purposely released by the Alpha world into the Prime world, which resulted in a tense cold war between the two worlds, with counterparts used as spies and sleeper agents. Silk's Alpha world continues to resemble ours, but the Prime world becomes quite different. Howard Silk Prime is a ruthless intelligence operative. Matters escalate during the series when a powerful rogue faction on Prime executes long-simmering plans to get revenge on Alpha.
Farnoosh Brock, the creator of this program, has been on our show during Episode 003 and just recently again to talk about an employer or manager mindset. Shortly after the show for her first guest appearance released, she emailed me and expressed that she was doing an invite only affiliate partner program. She thought that we might fit the bill for that partnership.
I have been able to do this in my own career and coached many others on how to promote within an organization. More often than that though I have witnessed people frustrated on the other side of the coin, not understanding how to build relationships, influence and a career that allows them to promote with ease. This is a need for which many people are looking for but only a very small portion find.
After I took forever and a day to peruse my way through the program, reviewing each portion along the way, I came to the conclusion that it could really help a lot of people that want a step by step approach to not only get promoted but also become much more valuable to their company at the same time. I know firsthand that this type of training is much needed in the workplace and that this knowledge is actually a win win for both companies and newly promoted employees.

A large crack, stretching several kilometres, made a sudden appearance recently in south-western Kenya. The tear, which continues to grow, caused part of the Nairobi-Narok highway to collapse. Initially, the appearance of the crack was linked to tectonic activity along the East African Rift. But although geologists now think that this feature is most likely an erosional gully, questions remain as to why it has formed in the location that it did and whether its appearance is at all connected to the ongoing East African Rift. For example, the crack could be the result of the erosion of soft soils infilling an old rift-related fault.
The East African Rift Valley stretches over 3,000km from the Gulf of Aden in the north towards Zimbabwe in the south, splitting the African plate into two unequal parts: the Somali and Nubian plates. Activity along the eastern branch of the rift valley, running along Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, became evident when the large crack suddenly appeared in south-western Kenya.
Although most of the time rifting is unnoticeable to us, the formation of new faults, fissures and cracks or renewed movement along old faults as the Nubian and Somali plates continue moving apart can result in earthquakes.
This article was updated and the headline changed on April 7 to reflect ongoing discussion by geologists about the cause of the large crack that appeared on the East Africa Rift and whether its location is related to the African continent split.
Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall, also known under the pseudonym Wideboyz, surprise the climbing world once again with an extraordinary performance. Not only in terms of climbing. Driven by the restrictions of the corona pandemic, the two were looking for an alternative for their planned trip to the USA. 2b1af7f3a8
